36mm Datejust homages, measured

Short answer: the best 36mm Rolex Datejust homage is the San Martin SN058-G-X. San Martin’s own spec sheet gives 36.5 mm across, 43 mm lug to lug and 11.9 mm thick, with a PT5000 or SW200 automatic movement. The Baltany S4084 is the other true 36 mm option that you can order from its maker. The Sugess S447 is also 36 mm, but every S447 listing on the Sugess store was sold out on 6 October 2026. NeoLux sells Seiko-NH35 Datejust builds with a 36 mm case option.

The Rolex Datejust 36 is 36 mm across. A homage at 40 mm or more does not wear like it, however close the dial and the bezel are. This page lists only watches whose maker gives a case diameter of 36 to 37 mm. Each value comes from the maker’s own page, and the table gives the source and the date we read it. When a maker does not publish a value, the table says “Not published”. We do not estimate it. This page has no affiliate links and shows no prices.

1. San Martin SN058-G-X

This is the size-correct Datejust homage with the strongest specification. San Martin lists 36.5 mm across, 43 mm lug to lug and 11.9 mm thick, with sapphire, a cyclops date, a carved bezel and a five-link bracelet. The movement is a PT5000 or a SW200 automatic. It scores 85/100 on our fidelity rubric, the highest of the Datejust homages we track. San Martin’s own page calls it a “36mm new dress watch” and does not name Rolex; our Datejust homages page files it against the Datejust on its design. 2. Baltany S4084

Baltany’s own product page says that the S4084 takes its inspiration from the Datejust, and Baltany calls it a “Gold Fluted Bezel 36mm Retro Dress Watch”. Baltany lists 36 mm across and 43.5 mm lug to lug, with a flat sapphire crystal with cyclops and 100 m water resistance. You can choose a Seiko NH35 or a Seagull ST2130 automatic. Baltany gives two thickness values, 11.8 mm and 11.4 mm, both with crystal, and does not say which movement goes with which. The table shows both. 3. Sugess S447 (sold out)

Sugess lists the S447 at 36 mm across, 44 mm lug to lug and 10 mm thick (11.5 mm with the crystal), with a fluted bezel, a jubilee bracelet and a Seagull ST2130 automatic. The Sugess store tags the S447 “datejust”. On 6 October 2026, all five S447 listings on the Sugess store were sold out. The 40 mm S448 in the same family does not count here.

4. NeoLux Datejust, 36 mm option

The NeoLux store at neoluxwatches.com sells hand-assembled “NeoLux Datejust” watches, which it describes as Seiko mods on the Seiko NH35 automatic. Most of them come in 36 mm or 39 mm; choose the 36 mm option. The store gives 36 mm (without crown) and 12 mm thick. It does not give a lug-to-lug length. The water resistance is 3 ATM (“splash-resistant; not for swimming”) on some product pages, and “tested & approved” on others, so we do not give one number. On 6 October 2026, all 54 of the 36 mm variants of the NeoLux Datejust models read as available. The “Lady” models are 31 mm and do not count here.

Why 40 mm and larger models do not count

The question is about 36 mm. A 4 mm or 6 mm larger case changes the lug-to-lug length and the way the watch sits on the wrist, and no dial detail fixes that. These popular picks are often named as 36 mm Datejust homages, but they are not:

• Pagani Design PD-1645: Pagani Design lists it at 42 mm (read 2026-10-06). It has the fluted bezel and the jubilee-style bracelet, but it is 6 mm larger than the Datejust 36. Compare it with the SN058-G-X on our Datejust homages page.
• Pagani Design PD-1752: it is 36 mm, but it shows the day as well as the date, and Pagani Design calls it an Automatic Day-Date (read 2026-10-06). It is a Day-Date homage. See the best Day-Date homage.
• Cadisen C8053: Cadisen lists a 38 mm dial diameter (read 2026-10-06). It is closer than 40 mm, but it is not 36 to 37 mm.

Is the Pagani Design PD-1645 a 36mm Datejust homage?

No. Pagani Design lists the PD-1645 at 42 mm across, 6 mm larger than the 36 mm Datejust. It has the fluted bezel and the jubilee-style bracelet, but it is not a 36 mm watch. We read Pagani Design's specification on 6 October 2026.

Is the Pagani Design PD-1752 a 36mm Datejust homage?

No. The PD-1752 is 36 mm across, but it shows the day of the week as well as the date, and Pagani Design calls it an Automatic Day-Date. It is a Day-Date homage, not a Datejust homage. We read Pagani Design's page on 6 October 2026.

How big is the Rolex Datejust 36?

Rolex lists the Datejust 36 reference 126234 at 36 mm across, with the calibre 3235 automatic movement and water resistance to 100 metres. The Rolex product page does not give a lug-to-lug length or a case thickness, so we do not give one either.
