Invicta watches review: are they any good?
Last reviewed 28 September 2026.
Short answer: the automatic Pro Diver is the one to buy. The Invicta 8926OB puts a Seiko-made NH35A automatic in a 40mm steel case rated to 200m, per Invicta's own spec table. Our Submariner homage page ranks it at fidelity 80. Invicta's own spec tables name every calibre below, and each linked listing was opened on Amazon US on 28 September 2026, with its seller and stock read from the buy box. The trap with Invicta is the reference number: the same-looking Pro Diver is an automatic at 40mm and a quartz at 37.5mm.
What Invicta is
Invicta says in its own store copy that it was founded in 1837. It sells dozens of lines, but the Pro Diver is the one that matters here: a coin-edge bezel, a date window and a steel bracelet. It is the Submariner shape at an entry price. On 28 September 2026 all four watches below were sold and shipped by Amazon.com. On 8 October 2026, with a US delivery address, none of them was: two had a third-party seller in the buy box, one had no featured offer and one was unavailable. Each entry below gives that read.
The movements, calibre by calibre
Invicta's store prints a spec table for every reference, and it names the calibre and its vendor:
- NH35A automatic, 24 jewels, vendor code TMI: the 40mm Pro Divers 8926OB, 8927OB, 8928OB and 8929OB, and the 43mm 9403OBXL. The NH35A is Seiko's own automatic calibre. It hacks, it hand-winds, and it is the same engine most budget homages on this site use.
- PC32A quartz, vendor code TMI: the 37.5mm Pro Divers 8932OB and 9204OB. They look almost identical in photos, so read the reference before you read anything else.
Every other Pro Diver in that table lists a mineral crystal. The 8926OB's spec table has no crystal field, and its Amazon listing names a scratch-resistant mineral crystal. The tables also list a screw-down crown on the automatics (a push crown on the quartz) and 200m of water resistance.
Four Pro Divers worth knowing
- 8926OB: the one to buy. 40mm steel, black dial, NH35A automatic, 200m. The Amazon listing gives 40mm × 14.1mm, an exhibition case back and assembly in Malaysia. Its listing title calls it a “5053”, which is an old Amazon title, but the model number field and the watch are the 8926OB. Sold by Amazon.com on 28 September 2026; on 8 October 2026 the buy box showed a third-party seller, All Glitters!!!, not Amazon.com. Amazon ↗
- 8927OB: the same 40mm NH35A Pro Diver with a steel-and-gold two-tone case (Invicta lists the case tone as “Gold, Steel”). Model number 8927OB on the listing. Sold by Amazon.com on 28 September 2026, but on 8 October 2026 the listing had no featured offer, so we no longer link it.
- 8929OB: the gold-tone version, with a black dial, the same NH35A and 200m, on a 20mm bracelet. Model number 8929OB on the listing. Sold by Amazon.com on 28 September 2026; on 8 October 2026 the buy box showed a third-party seller, Watchsavings. Amazon ↗
- 8932OB: the 37.5mm quartz. It has a black dial, a PC32A quartz movement, 200m and a push crown. Buy it for the smaller size or a battery watch, not as a cheaper 8926OB. Sold by Amazon.com on 28 September 2026, but the listing was currently unavailable on 8 October 2026, so we no longer link it.
Not linked: the 8928OB (blue dial, two-tone) is listed, but the seller in its buy box was a third party, Time Is Right, not Amazon.com. The 9204OB's best-matching listing was also third-party. Neither is a bad watch. On 28 September we linked only the four that Amazon.com sold directly; the 8 October read above changed that for all four.
Where it falls short
Three things. The crystal is mineral, not sapphire, so it scratches sooner: Invicta's spec tables say so for the siblings, and the 8926OB's Amazon listing says so for it. The case is thick for a 40mm diver, at 14.1mm on the 8926OB listing. And the bezel and bracelet are a clear step below San Martin or Steeldive finishing. Its fidelity score of 80 on our rubric reflects the design, and the rubric does not score build quality.
FAQ
Are Invicta watches any good?
The automatic Pro Divers are, for what they are. The 8926OB and its colour siblings put a Seiko-made NH35A automatic in a 40mm steel case with a screw-down crown, a unidirectional bezel and a 200m rating, according to Invicta's own spec tables. The compromises are a mineral crystal rather than sapphire (the 8926OB's Amazon listing names a scratch-resistant mineral crystal), and a coin-edge case that wears thicker than the Submariner it follows: the 8926OB's Amazon listing gives 14.1mm.
What movement is in the Invicta 8926OB?
Invicta's own store lists the 8926OB's movement calibre as NH35A, 24 jewels, from the vendor it codes TMI. The NH35A is Seiko's automatic workhorse, with hacking seconds and hand-winding. The 8926OB's Amazon listing says the same and adds that the watch is assembled in Malaysia.
Which Invicta Pro Diver is quartz?
The 37.5mm references. Invicta's store lists the 8932OB and the 9204OB with a PC32A quartz calibre, and the 40mm 8926OB, 8927OB, 8928OB and 8929OB with the NH35A automatic. The reference number tells you which one you are buying, and the listing photos do not.
Is Invicta a homage brand?
The Pro Diver coin-edge line is Invicta's Submariner-style watch, and our Submariner page ranks the 8926OB at fidelity 80. Invicta sells many other lines that follow no single original. This guide covers only the Pro Divers.
