Short answer: yes, for a mechanical complication at a low price. Sugess builds around Tianjin Seagull movements. It offers a 38mm hand-wound column-wheel chronograph, a 38mm automatic jump hour and a 41mm automatic moonphase, and its own store names the calibre on every product page. We rank the S465 on the Daytona page and the S466 Heritage on the Nautilus page. The four watches below were checked against Sugess's store and opened on Amazon US on 28 September 2026, with their seller and stock read from the buy box.

What Sugess is

Sugess is a Chinese brand selling direct from sugesswatch.com (397 products at our 28 September 2026 read) and through its own Amazon storefront, Sugess Official. Where most budget homage houses fit a Seiko NH35 and stop there, Sugess sells the movements Seagull is known for. Its store tags some products with the Rolex reference they follow, such as 116610LN, 126710BLRO and Daytona. Most of its catalogue follows no single original.

The movements, calibre by calibre

Four Sugess watches worth knowing

Not linked: the Ocean Star S450-2 diver. Its Amazon title says NH35A, but its bullets give a 28,800 bph beat, and the NH35A runs at 21,600. We do not link a listing that contradicts itself.

Where it falls short

Water resistance and fulfilment. Most Sugess watches are rated 50m, so they are not swimming watches, however sporty the dial looks. The Amazon listings are merchant-fulfilled by Sugess Official, marked “usually ships within 2 to 3 days”, so delivery is slower than a Prime item. The S465 is a vintage-chronograph shape rather than a line-for-line Daytona, and our rubric scores it that way.

Verdict: Sugess is the budget house for mechanical complications rather than dive specs. It has a real column-wheel chronograph, a jump hour and a true moonphase, each with its Seagull calibre named by the maker. Buy one for the movement, and keep it away from the pool. For a dive-rated homage, see Steeldive or Heimdallr.

FAQ

Are Sugess watches any good?
Yes, if you want a mechanical complication cheaply. Sugess builds around Seagull movements, including a hand-wound column-wheel chronograph (the ST19), an automatic jump hour (ST1721) and an automatic moonphase (ST2528). Its own store lists sapphire on the chronographs and moonphases and 50m of water resistance on most. The catch is size and water resistance: these are 38–41mm dress-leaning watches, not divers.

What movement does Sugess use?
Mostly Tianjin Seagull calibres, named on each product page: the ST19 manual-wind column-wheel chronograph (S465 and the SUM199 moonphase chronograph), the ST1721 automatic jump hour (S451) and the ST2528 automatic moonphase (SU2528). Some lines use other movements. The Ocean Star divers are split: of the 13 on Sugess's store, 9 list a Seiko NH35 (the S450 YM and the S421 SP references) and 4 list a Seagull ST2130 (the S421 SU references). The Heritage S463 GMT lists a Peacock SL3032.

Where can you buy Sugess watches?
From sugesswatch.com and on Amazon US, where the listings we checked are sold and shipped by Sugess Official and marked in stock but usually shipping within 2 to 3 days.

Does Sugess make homages?
Some. Sugess's own store tags products with Rolex references such as 116610LN (Submariner), 126710BLRO (GMT) and Daytona, and we rank two Sugess watches: the S465 on the Daytona page and the S466 Heritage on the Nautilus page. Much of the catalogue, like the moonphases and the jump hour, follows no single original.
